The inspiration.............

The body from this kit. The rest was used to complete a MK1 Escort resin bodied Rally Car.

Nice job Patrick.

Show us some pics of the Mk1 as well please.

Thanks Sonny. Yes here's a few of the MK1, this must be at least 5 years old or more!

The 'glass' came with it. I cut out the bootlid and the bonnet was already apart, and I made up the hinges with paper clips, and wired the spark plugs.

BRILLIANT job, Patrick!!!, although I have to say, that even though you made it pretty darn close to the real car, i'm not so keen on the flag being up side down.

Thanks guys. Well Dann I'm just copying Ken's car flagwise.

I know, Bud!, i'm not knocking you, just think its not right for HIM to display our flag like that.....you keep kicking-butt with your building!!….its a sweet looking car!!!

I like both your MK II and your MK I builds...... the clear crystal body shell reminds me that I want cast a clear Gedeo body shell from my Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud mould. Not sure how that will turn out.

I've used Gedeo white plaster, and have the clear here but not used it. Using plaster with their blue moulding medium has worked very well on small items, seats, bomber seats, and surfboards. I say go for it!

The black seat is a kit plastic and the surfboard with the scene on is a fridge magnet. I decal print various surfboard scenes now, and just paint the seats and attach with fast acting glues.

Yes David I tried that once, building two or more at a time, but got lost so reverted to one at a time. Now retired I complete one about every 10 days or so.

Pat..... I reached retirement age 11 days ago but there is so much going on, which is a good thing, that I have to remember scale model car building is a serious hobby. Over the next couple of years I hope to spend more time at the work bench ( kitchen table ) and planning to come up with some quality builds, and diorama ideas too.
