64SS350 Posted January 24, 2020 Author Posted January 24, 2020 Not too bad to do, I have a tool from my slot car fabricating days that let's me bend them easily. Just getting in the groove of using it, material tolerances, movement, etc. Yes, that's shrink tubing. Thanks for looking!!
Impalow Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 Fantastic stuff Karl! I love following along! ?
64SS350 Posted February 9, 2020 Author Posted February 9, 2020 Finally got some progress to show. Chassis at pre-assembly stage, headers, oil filters, and some resin work.
STYRENE-SURFER Posted February 10, 2020 Posted February 10, 2020 Looking good Karl. Headers are fantastic. Realy nice to see these old "odd" drag racers come to life in styrene. I'm a fanatic for different, unusual drag cars from back in the day.
64SS350 Posted March 9, 2020 Author Posted March 9, 2020 Been awhile, but have been doing some lathe work. Injector stacks, oil cans, now magnetos.
64SS350 Posted April 19, 2020 Author Posted April 19, 2020 Some progress... engine details, shocks, and magnetos. Also added u-bolts to the front springs
64SS350 Posted May 10, 2020 Author Posted May 10, 2020 Finishing shock installation and got rubber mounted.
64SS350 Posted June 11, 2020 Author Posted June 11, 2020 Haven't gotten a lot done, tedious body work. Thinning body, front clips, firewalls.

64SS350 Posted July 7, 2020 Author Posted July 7, 2020 (edited) No quarantine for me.... working 58 hrs a week since it all started. Getting back into it, smoothing interiors and front clips, constructing firewalls, roll cages. Edited July 7, 2020 by 64SS350
64SS350 Posted July 29, 2020 Author Posted July 29, 2020 Here are the interiors minus steering wheels and harnesses.
TransAmMike Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 I'm late looking at this cool thread. Karl, I'm trying to make the front suspension like yours on this Stude. You said you scratch built (which I'm trying to do for my 57 Cevvy Gasser) and I wonder if you can tell mw how you did the ends of the leaf springs??
64SS350 Posted August 3, 2020 Author Posted August 3, 2020 I used round stock and drilled the center. Used liquid glue, let set and then coated with thin CA
Nazz Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 I've been following this build since I joined the forum. Impressive work!
TransAmMike Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 Yep, just after asking that thought came to mind but I was thinking tubing. As we speak I'm working on the springs. Thanks for answering
64SS350 Posted August 28, 2020 Author Posted August 28, 2020 Forgot to add pics of finished interiors, dropped in both small blocks tonight. Will work on plumbing intakes tomorrow... hopefully!
64SS350 Posted October 14, 2020 Author Posted October 14, 2020 Well, finally have a progress report. Still working a lot of hours, plus ....life. These resins require a lot of work to get them in good shape. I have the front clips about 99% ready. Started filling in original firewall/inner fender areas. Oh, and my big fingers broke out another vent pillar, hence the tape on both cars now.

64SS350 Posted November 15, 2020 Author Posted November 15, 2020 Finally got one with a good dry fit, other one almost there.
High octane Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 A great project Karl as I've seen the Flyer quite awhile back at an event in Ohio if I'm not mistaken.
Mattilacken Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 Looks wonderful! Keep up the good work!
64SS350 Posted December 14, 2020 Author Posted December 14, 2020 (edited) Managed a little bench time here and there. Fixed all window pillars, some more body work, made and replaced rear trim again, as this is common on all three bodies. Also finished other firewall. Edited December 14, 2020 by 64SS350
Belugawrx Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 These are really coming along nicely Karl, great work on the firewalls?
