bisc63 Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 The lines on the deck lid inset look a bit vague/indistinct, but this is really shaping up NICELY! Great work.

Getting closer. Tim, look over the curve of the roof and tell me what you think. Any other comments or critiques are welcome. I want this Bird dead on. Thanks. That roof looks correct now Paul. Nice looking so far!
Paul Hettick Posted April 2, 2019 Author Posted April 2, 2019 Thank you Tim. I redid the two parallel moldings that wrap over the B pillar as they were a bit caddywompus. Started on the taillight unit, but progress has been a bit slow lately. Hope some inspiration will hit me soon to get back on it. Paul
Straightliner59 Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 You guys that can do this kind of conversion work amaze me! Hell, I don't ever see half the inaccuracies that you guys do, much less could I turn a '72 Torino into a '77 T-bird!. Nice work, for sure. It's gotta' be black magic! :-)
Bob Ellis Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Very nice work Paul. I had a 1972 Gran Torino Sport and a 1977 T Bird with a 400. The T Bird was loaded.
Bob Ellis Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Incredible work Paul. Hope to live long enough to get one from you!

Paul Hettick Posted April 4, 2019 Author Posted April 4, 2019 Thank you all very much. I would hope to have copies available some time this summer. Paul
Oldcarfan27 Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Yesssss, the project lives! It absolutely has the look and feel of a Tbird. I'm excited for your project. Thanks for all of the photos.
Ron Hamilton Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 Looking good. This one takes me back to November 1977 when I accompanied my sister to do some car shopping. She brought home a Dark Brown 78 Thunderbird Town Landau. It was a beautiful car.
skipp20 Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 please keep me up to date if you sell them, I need one
Rider Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 This is really something, bravo, a real joy to follow. Makes me want to try this in order to create a 77-79 Lincoln MkV. Best of luck and continued success with this project.
Peter Lombardo Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Far from my favorite Thunderbird, but wow, you are doing a great job on it.... very impressive, to say the least.
Paul Hettick Posted April 29, 2019 Author Posted April 29, 2019 After a long break, I'm back on the Bird. Completed the part I was most afraid of... Making the egg crate grill. Still have to make the surround. Now to do the taillight.

MrObsessive Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 I absolutely LOVE what I'm seeing so far Paul! I'd sure love to snag one of these when it's available. Finally one of my favorite cars of the '70's is seeing the light of day!

I said the front would be a stating point is all. The center of the Torino is close, but ends need worked. That being said, not all Thunderbirds had the bumper guards and rub strips.
