Ace-Garageguy Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 I'll take the Stude. I'm absolutely burned out on belly-dragging slammer rods, and big-wheel cars too. Most of the former are still barely drivable even if they ARE shiny and the edges don't cut you, and the unsprung : sprung weight ratio on big-wheel hot-rods makes most of them ride like dump trucks.
espo Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 While A is along the Rat Rod theme it is to well done to call it a Rat Rod, in my opinion. B is much more to what I would love to have. That said I also am in the camp that the tires and wheels are out of proportion to what I myself think looks best. I'm sure there are many who prefer the "rim protector tires" on the large diameter wheels, but again that is just my opinion. As for the Amish 1 horse power don't be fooled. We have visited areas where there is a lot of Amish families and farming communities. Buggies just like this is their standard means of transportation and there is signage along the road warning about their slow moving carriages on the narrow two lane highways. I remember well over taking a carriage that was going close to 35 or 40 miles per hour on the shoulder of the road. These guys were clearly in a hurry to get to the picnic we pasted later down the road. That horse had his legs going unlike what you would think a farm animal could do. I have a great respect for these people and their chosen life style.
Can-Con Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 According to wikipedia, an adult horse makes almost 15 horsepower! ,, I did not know that.

Every show I've ever attended whether it's a 1:1 show, or model show, has dozens of them. I have no interest in either one. If I were given one, I would sell it and buy a real car! Such as this '34 Plymouth...... Complete with 413 Long Ram engine, and drum brakes! Owner said it was a blast to drive, but as hard as a falling meteorite to stop!!

Jantrix Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 Yeah those are two ends of the spectrum. My "C" would be something like this. Or if we're talking fenderless, this is right up my alley.

Only change I'd like to see on the red one is either lowering the top of the grille shell slightly, or raising the body slightly...or a little of both...to get a level (more or less) line between the rad shell top and the front of the cowl. I always find it jarring, design-wise, if the two points are far out of a line level with the ground, or parallel with the frame rails ( the line, in short, a hood would have to follow if one were installed).
Deathgoblin Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 I love them both! I'd have to sit on top and steer through the windows, though.
