Paul Hettick Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Did this one for a friend last year. Started with a Jimmy Flintstone 53 Ford squire body, grafted a R&R 54 Merc front clip, did some changing on the wood trim and taillights, scratch built an interior. It's Yosemite Yellow.
wmobie Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 I got splinters just looking at it. Bravo Walt O'Brien Marshmallow world VT
Ramfins59 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 That is just gorgeous Paul. What did you use for the hubcaps?
Paul Hettick Posted January 12, 2019 Author Posted January 12, 2019 Thank you very much. The Hubcaps were from 54 Merc Sun Valley resin kit from a different caster. His name escapes me at the moment.
Paul Hettick Posted January 12, 2019 Author Posted January 12, 2019 Richard, I think the name of the 54 Sun Valley maker is Big Sky resins.
StevenGuthmiller Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Exceptional! It's funny, but while I used to loathe station wagons, because I grew up with them, when I see these oldies now, I really like them. If I was ever in the market for a 1:1 50s car and couldn't afford a 2 door hard top or convertible, a wagon would be next on the list. Steve
cobraman Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Looks great ! Everyone you post is outstanding.
Phildaupho Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Excellent conversion, Great looking model.
Ramfins59 Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Paul, I looked up Big Sky Resins to try to find those hubcaps, but they say this car is no longer available.
Dave Darby Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 You're a master, Paul. I've admired your Ebay pieces for years. Gorgeous conversion.
W-409 Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Another masterpiece from your bench! Good to see these unique subjects built as nicely as this one. Excellent job with the body conversion. The wooden areas on the sides turned out really nice, too. Great work.
geetee66 Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 I agree. This is a quality build, and a model rarely seen in these pages. You did a knockout job on this. Really nice
Tom99 Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 (edited) You nailed another one, awesome. Edited January 13, 2019 by Tom99
OldTrucker Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Beautiful! One fine looking wagon you created! Thanks for sharing it!
peekay Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 As always, a beautifully built and unique model.
Ben269 Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 This turned out very nice. I have the 53 squire stalled on my bench as I struggle to make an interior. Do you have any pictures of how you did yours?
