Here are a few photos of the finished Ford GT40, was a little bit of a challenge bringing the main body and the lower half together, due to my build plan with it being a curbside but after a few tweeks it came together well. Very happy with how the paint has polished up, especially with it being black which tends to show any imperfection. Other than a few additional parts its all built out of the box, and all in all i'm very pleased with the final outcome. It's not the greatest kit, especially when it comes to the engine detailing, but I would very much like to build it again (non-curbside) and make the many necessary modifications to correct the many authenticity flaws. Would require a lot of scratch building.

I've read some reviews poinint out a lot of stange things with ths kit (like way too many parts being chrome) and some fitment issues, but the pictures prove it can be a real beauty.   I have a resin distributor (non provided) and a spare tire but do not have the KA detail kits which cost almost as the model.  There are aftermarket decal as well but the black sure does look good.  As best I can tell you built this rather quickly - do you have a estimate of the total hours and were there any other frustrating problems or recommendation for other that have not taken on building one.

Super Duper nice and VERY impressive for its size!

I've got one also that I've never touched. All the bells and whistles including the KA PE set, but no tires. I just can't see spending upwards of $150 for a set of resin tires.

I'd like to know too...........heaven knows when I'll ever get to mine, but it would be nice to know some of the pitfalls that might await.

Here is a link to a review of the build.

This is a lovely job. Well done. This shows just how good one of these Trumpeter kits can look when all built up.

I gave up on mine (as I was so disappointed with the kits engine), but seeing this inspires me to maybe build it with the rear canopy permanantly shut.
