crossfire 2004 Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 Apologies for not having a build thread, I have however included some photos of the completed sub assemblies. AMT Chevrolet 3100 pickup, modified frame with Revell ‘37 Ford ifs front suspension and Speedwagon rear axle, wheels and tyres. The real crime of the century lies under the hood though, a modular Ford V8 from the phantom Vicky kit. Headers are solder and a bit of a compromise due to space, but hey, it looks kinda neat in there. Body is stock with just the front bench seat from a ‘55 nomad replacing the bland original. Paint is GM Vauxhall Carabic blue under clear. I’ve broad shoulders so any comments welcome.
TarheelRick Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 Very nice pickup. That color really brings out the smooth lines of this old warhorse. I also see you did away with the blue-flame 6 for some more usable horsepower. Beautiful build, thanks for sharing.
crossfire 2004 Posted February 3, 2019 Author Posted February 3, 2019 Thanks guys for the positive feedback on the build, much appreciated.
Rusty92 Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 I like the idea of the ford engine in the Chevy. You see it all the time when it’s the other way around. Great build
