Jim H. Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 First time posting on this forum. Forgive me if I uploaded my photos incorrectly. Anyway, these are my latest truck projects. I'm having a lot of fun with these Moebius truck kits. Still alot of work to be done on both. The 70 is beefed up with the full upgrade from FIreball Modelworks. Both are great kits IMO.Highly recommend the fireball upgrade.
leafsprings Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 Nice projects! I agree, Moebius filled a big void, and greatly appreciated by folks that have been waiting a long time for these offerings. The Fireball upgrade to 3/4 ton is an excellent option for your super realistic looking '70 workhorse. The '66 is a big deal also, the divorced cab ( compared to the '61-'63 unibody) opens up a lot of build opportunities for this classic.

I want to use the bed from one of my '66 flaresides on a '69, and then put some other sort of bed on it..maybe a stake bed, not sure if the stake bed from the '34 is too small or not (have a couple of those stashed away).

Modlbldr Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Oh yeah! Two nice looking projects there. I can't wait to get my hands on some of those 66 Ford's. Later-
Rusty92 Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 They both look awesome. Can't wait to see more of your work.
wrenchr Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Both are very good looking, the weathering is looking very convincing on the 70, looks like an old work horse. Cant wait to get started on my 66. I need to get one of those 4X4 versions.
the goon Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 Both do look great. Really like the weathering on the '70. Mark
Matt T. Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 (edited) Oh yeah! That ‘70 highboy looks SO good! That’s on my short list to build too. That Fireball set is amazing. Nice job shaving the trim on the black ‘66. I did that too on mine Well done. Welcome to the forum. Edited May 24, 2019 by Matt T.
Jim H. Posted June 10, 2019 Author Posted June 10, 2019 I threw another body in the mix for the highboy chassis. Still totally undecided as to how i'll finish that one. I do really like it as a red '69, despite the grille inaccuracies. Anyone think we'll ever see that corrected? I went with a yellow two-tone on the white '70 body. Got some testors dark red on the '66. I'm having fun with these.
kelson Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 If you look in the Truck/Aftermarket resin section, there is a guy who has cleaned up the 69-72 grill and is going to offer it 3d printed sometime in the future.
my80malibu Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 Really like the Fireball parts. I would like to them on a Short bed style Pickup
