I made the fuel filler cap with quick release latch.  All aluminum.

Is it just me who sees the photo links in html text? They do work when I individually copy the urls and paste them into a new tab ....

Yes it looks like the img tags doesn't work with the new forum software.

If you click on the "other media" button below when you type in a reply or when you start a new topic and choose "insert image from URL", copy and paste the url for the picture on your external photo host without img tags in the box you get and click insert into post it will show up, like I did here with Marks picture.

But the easiest way is to drag the file you want to show directly from your computer to the box below and drop it there and the picture will be on the forum server, so you don't need an external server to host pictures and hotlink from when you want to show your pictures here.

Thank you for trying to get the photos to show up guys.

I've tried the other suggestions too, but they just don't work for me for some reason.

Something changed when they updated the board software.  Has everyone had to change the way they post photos  since then, or is it just my threads?

At least the edit feature is working again.

I'll try your way Håkan and see if it works for me.

Congratulations on your steady progress.  The filler cap (just like every other part of this project) looks very realistic.

You sir are insane.

These parts are incredible!

Honestly, I didn't know MicroMark still sold their "Incredible Shrink Ray" machine. I shoulda bought one when they were on sale. ?

Thanks Patrick!

I built the shrink ray I have years before Micro-Mark started selling theirs.

The reason they don't sell them anymore is because I had to sue (cease and desist order) for unauthorized use of a key component I designed and shared with them under exclusive license, which was violated.

The rear section received reinforcements for the exhaust brackets as well as for the two upper supports.spacer.png

So.  Does this mean that I have to return the Micro Mark Shrink Ray that my wife bought me for Xmas two years ago ?

I wouldn't return it, you can't buy 'em now.

And I wouldn't expect much of a warranty now either.  You should try it out and see if it even works.

Oh. It works very well ...   have a look at this brief case  -  it’s an old family item that I shrunk to the size of a business card case ...  just dial in the scale and hit the “shrink” button.

You might need to contact your lawyer.  The new Spring Micro Mark catalog features this item on page 59 ...   Just sayin’.

Turning the ring requires a turned radius on both front and back of the alu bar.  Which is tricky - what’s your method?   You’ve made yourself a cutting tool with the required radius -  or what  ??

Posted

That should be about an inch diameter. So you have to use some fairly large stock. Was it cut without having to use a spacer ?

Posted

Yes, it is a 12" wheel.  I started with stock that was a little over an inch.

No need for a spacer, I cut the wheels for this that have an O.D. of at least 1.75" around the fixturing tabs with plenty of clearance.
