Here's an ad for a Cadillac V-16, and this body was the most expensive one you could get for that year. Clearly the folks at GM thought it looked just fine without them. This is the body the Jo-Han kit is based on, right? Charlie Larkin

Charlie Larkin It is the style, though the actual car they measured for the kit is a replica made from another V-16 Town Car. Apparently no actual Town Broughams are known to exist.
landman Posted October 12, 2019 Author Posted October 12, 2019 There. I hate paint, I hate painting, I hate airbrushes....What else?
landman Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 I don't know about stunner but here is a preview. I am debating between light gray, dark gray or black for the roof. All the moldings will be foiled then dulled.
landman Posted October 20, 2019 Author Posted October 20, 2019 (edited) The foiling is done. The semigloss clear hasn't dulled it as much as I thought it would. Hope you like it, warts and all. Edited October 20, 2019 by landman
Eric Macleod Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 I think it looks great. I've been meaning to ask you, what did you use to glue the wire for the window molding in place?

Bugatti Fan Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 Great to see someone doing a kit bash with inter wars classics from some of the old Monogram kits.
misterNNL Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 A beautiful coach built body by St-Marten beauty. Looks elegant and well proportioned. Great work.

It turns out a protuberance at the bottom was interfering. More surgery.
charlie8575 Posted October 22, 2019 Posted October 22, 2019 I do like the colors. Looks fantastic. Charlie Larkin
landman Posted October 23, 2019 Author Posted October 23, 2019 Thank you Charlie. Glad you like it. I am facing a big dilemma here, No grille guard and the louvers painted black, or no grille guard and the louvers chrome or with the grille guard. I'm leaning hard towards the black louvers.
Eric Macleod Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 I would strongly agree with you on the black louvers. It adds a bit more visual depth to the front of the car.

Thank you for the kind offer, Eric. I dohave a gold one from the Metal Master kit. Let me try to Alclad it first.
landman Posted October 26, 2019 Author Posted October 26, 2019 A teaser . Once I receive Eric's grille, I'll take the Under Glass shots.
landman Posted November 7, 2019 Author Posted November 7, 2019 Eric's grille is installed. The boys are admiring the car while Smith is giving it a bit of polish in anticipation of the Under Glass photos.
