Hi everyone!  Thought I should start a new thread as I am offering items other than the Ford grills.  I am currently working on front suspension for the 62-66 Ford F350 2wd trucks as a few of you mentioned that you would like something for the new Moebius kits rolling out now.  I searched high and low for ANY reference on these trucks and found nothing for measurements or any details but I have a folder packed with pictures and other references and came up with this assembly.  It is not 100% accurate due to what I already mentioned plus I am making this to fit the frame available with the kit so bare with me.  Let me know what you think!  It will be available as a 4 piece component with out wheels (sold separately)  I am about to offer the wheels with out tires.  They are 16.5mm at the widest point which is the outermost rim.  It translates to about a 16 inch wheel in 1/25.  Thank you to everyone for your support and positive feedback on my other parts.

They are made of resin, washed in two baths of alcohol then hardened under UV lamp.  They should be primed/painted due to UV sensitivity but otherwise should be fine.  I don't think there will be a problem with long term creep as the parts get really hard with time and I think they would break before bending but honestly I don't know at this time.

Will do Jason, I forgot the shock mounts and shocks so working on that now.  I guess it will be a 6 piece unit instead of four.

Here are the shots of the shock mounts and everything.  Test fitted the main assembly and it is good. Sorry for the crappy pics and don't pay any attention to all the green tape!  The engine cradle will require the shock/spring perches to be hacked off.

Okay Joe!   I just ordered everything I believe I need to turn the AMT '60  Chevy pickup into a long bed V6 GMC!

I will be building the above truck.  Interesting story...  I was reading Classic Truck Magazine and it was mentioned that the 1960s camping frenzy was partly started by John Steinbeck's novel  "Travels With Charley, In Search for America"  Steinbeck described the camper as being "like the cabin of a small boat or the shell of a learned snail."

  In the fall of 1960 Steinbeck started out across the country in this custom ordered GMC pickup camper he named "Rocinante" after Don Quixote's horse.   Charley was a brown poodle that answered commands in French.  

I checked the book out of my local library and have been reading it on airplanes. There weren't any pictures in the book, at least in the copy I have.  But in the book he spoke of the V6 engine, so I had that detail. I figured I might just have to fudge a lot of details.  But then, I Googled it and found all kinds of photos.. yes the truck still exists.  It's in the Steinbeck National Center in Salinas, California.

The 305 V6 was designed for high torque at low rpm. Block was very heavy duty. The exhaust pulses definitely had a unique sound. I believe you still  need the 60-61 GMC hood and 60-61 GMC V6 emblems. One of my pet peeves is when detail is destroyed after a re paint. Original photo shows what  the hubcaps ( white with dark blue trim)  and v6 emblems ( white with red and dark blue trim ) looked like originally,  these parts were repainted all white on the Steinbeck restoration.

Thanks Bill! Your already on the early style  V6 emblems!  Very impressive. By the way, your coming soon 55 Chevy pickup hubcaps will work on the 60-61 GMC pickup. Only difference is the  Chevy bowtie is replaced with the GMC logo  letters.

Thanks Tom I will definitely look into that!  The reason the hubcaps aren't ready yet is the bow tie doesn't want to cooperate!

This kit has an inline (straight) 6 (all cylinders in a line) GMC offered the V6 (3 cylinders on each side and block is a V shape).

Ah, ok.  I have this kit, and I don't really have a plan for it yet; so when I saw all of your GMC conversion parts I got excited.  Unfortunately, I don't have a V6 to put in it.  Oh, well.
