Brutalform Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 (edited) I know I really shouldn’t be starting another build, especially when I have ten already started, and also have built fourteen other T Bolts. But since I went through all of my parts, and decals, I have enough parts to build this car, without buying anything. I built this car years ago, (pic) when I just started back into the hobby, and it’s not the nicest looking car. So after removing the mold lines, deepening and darkening the panel lines, and modifying the hood, removing all emblems, and priming, here goes another Thunderbolt build. gman Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 A promising (re)start. I love that kit, and the subject. Will be interested to watch it come together.
espo Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Neat kit. I remember watching the '64 Thunderbolts at the Winter Nationals in Pomona. They were awesome to watch. Nice to pay tribute to a great driver with this build.
gtx6970 Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Got to see the 1/1 several years ago . Built one then and still have it. Its actually the one that actually started my affair for the revel Thunderbolt kit many years ago. ( currently have 6 finished with maybe about half dozen to go )
am73grand Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Nice work! I got to see the Tasca Ford one in person. Really cool car!
rickcaps55 Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Nice line up awesome job on all of them I'm a big Ford guy my self.!!

After I’m finished with this one, I plan on stripping the old one, and with a little luck finding the Jake King decals, Id like to do the old one as the Atwater car.
Codi Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Nice build and an awesome collection of cars you have. cheers, tim
dino246gt Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Very nice collection! I saw a few of those on the strip back in the mid sixties, great memories!
Brutalform Posted January 14, 2020 Author Posted January 14, 2020 (edited) Getting some cars done that are sitting on the bench. This is just a tad darker than the Platt car. Close enough, I suppose? All I have left to do is decal this Thunderbolt now. I’m going to get the Butch Leal car completed too. Then, I’ll decal them both together. Then when I get a chance to get pics in good light, (always cloudy) I’ll post them both under glass. Edited January 14, 2020 by Brutalform
Dann Tier Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 Great start for sure!!!...i think these cars are pretty sweet looking!!!
Wm David Green Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 All great builds, and Tom, that intense blue color on your Ford, that is really nice. I struggle to think 'outside the box' when it comes to colors, and you guys are a real inspiration.
Brutalform Posted January 15, 2020 Author Posted January 15, 2020 (edited) Thanks for the replies. After this car, and the Leal car are 100% finished, these will be my 16th Thunderbolt build. I still have the Atwater car waiting to get started. My favorite car from the S/S era hands down. Edited January 15, 2020 by Brutalform
Scott8950 Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 thats beautiful and your foil work is very nice... i have this car on my list.
Nitrobarry Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Well done! When I was a tech inspector at my local drag strip, I had the chance to look over an original example. Unbelievable cars indeed!
Brutalform Posted January 15, 2020 Author Posted January 15, 2020 I have a few photos of the Leal car nearing final assembly. Depending how it all goes, I might have both of these finished with decals later tonight.
Dann Tier Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Love the kolors...the details....ALL of it!!!
