I went to The Glen yesterday for the Historics. It's only a four hour drive each way, so it's close :) THere were hundreds of vintage race cars and hundreds more for the infield car show. During the lunch break, the cars did two laps behind the pace car. If you have never been to this event, GO! There are always some very interesting and important cars to see plus celebrities plus thousands of fans to talk to. It was a great day in perfect weather.

Agree 100%.  I went last year and it was actually chilly but seeing the cars drive through town and on the track and in the pits was great.

Always enjoy your photography of all the automotive events you attend. Great subjects and lots of model building ideas. The little black '50 Ford reminds me of a '51 I had many many years ago. Same type of engine setup, just never got a paint job any where close to this.

This coming weekend is the fall vintage classic at Road America.  I'm looking forward to it.  Only  50 miles away.

Wow, I haven't been to the Glen since '67 when I went to see the Grand Prix of the United States. That was an awesome time and a long drive as I lived in Chicago at the time. Thanks for the pics.

Thanks for sharing.  That was before my time, and back east, so I never enjoyed the history.  The closest I've come to such an event, is the Monterey Historics, had a headache from sensory overload.

When I was a college student in the 1970s I lived about a quarter mile from the McCoy race shop. They always kept the doors closes- no easy feat in the Modesto summer temps!

Finally got a chance to look through all those excellent photos.  Found a couple in there I have been wanting to build, so I saved the photos to my "Want to Build File", thanks for sharing these.
