This one sat on the SOD for a while. I had some issues on another build with Vallejo Metal Color paints. This build is done primarily to test these paints for color, masking, weathering and durability. Have to say, the paint worked great as long as you stay away from their recommended primer!!! Absolutely nothing accurate as far as markings to pain scheme here, this is only a test.

I like it as well. I was recently reading about how the individual panels on a plane vary in color and I see where you did that.

Well done!

Thanks for the positive feedback, guys. I had this paint go bad on a complex build, wanted to see if I could beat it into working.  Changed primer and all was good. I like the different colors and sheens they have available and the ease of cleanup. Great for old NMF finishes on aircraft, i'll find uses on car models.

Beautiful! I'm assuming you're airbrushing it. Any thoughts about hand brushing it for smaller parts? That's something I have done with some success with Testors Metalizers.

I just tried this on a plastic spoon and a yellow sprue. The paint is pretty thin, i spray this direct from the squeeze bottle. It did dry brush mark free, but i think it would need more than one coat. It did scratch off easily from the spoon, so a primer is needed. I have used anything but the recommended primer with good results. HTH.

Thanks. Metalizers rub off easily until they are fully cured - about 24 hours - when applied directly to plastic. But then they are quite durable. It sounds like the Vallejo paints are quite different. I may give them a try to see how they could be used.

Painting stuff for the Porsche i primed a spoon with Tamiya primer rattlecan, waited an hour, then applied Vallejo white aluminum by brush. Let dry for one hour, and did not scratch off. Stayed put. For small parts it would work fine, as long as you prime.

Thanks for the follow up. I'll definitely be looking into it.
