dougwintz Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Hi. I think I built this one 10 years ago (!) but the decals were so bad - thick, inflexible, just awful. So it sat on my shelf unfinished. Fast forward 10 years and i found this guy Michael from Indycals who had what I was looking for. And the decals were GREAT! Very thin, conformed to edges well. So I cleaned it up a bit and finished it off. I have the Citgo and Whistler versions of the kits, so I bought those decals too and looking forward to using them. Indycals - highly recommended. And no I'm not related 3
vamach1 Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Super nice job. For a minute I thought you added a bunch of plumbing and then I looked back at one I built 30 years ago and forgot how detailed the kit really is. Here's my box stock oldie but goodie. 1
Dave Van Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Well done!!! I have built maybe 10 of those kits....not easy but some out nice if you take the time.
espo Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Beautiful looking, finally. I have had this and a couple of the companion kits that were offered at that time. I just never got around to building any of them and didn't realize until now just how detailed they are.
peter31a Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Sweet IMSA Mustang! Love seeing these kits built up.
donb Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 Excellent work. Built one of these a few years ago and yes the decals simply did not want to lay down nicely. I was happy they stayed together after 25 some years old. Yours look great. Well done!
Harryn22 Posted Monday at 05:23 PM Posted Monday at 05:23 PM any shot you have the instructions to the whistler kit? I just bought it used, and am planning to make a JPS liveried car but i have no instructions! could you send me a scan or photos if you nhave the manual still? 1
Rich Chernosky Posted Monday at 07:04 PM Posted Monday at 07:04 PM Doug this is one tough kit to get right but you nailed it. Great job. Indycals are great and I have used them several times. Now that I know they have these decals I may re-do mine. Thanks for the heads up.

Harrison I think I have the JPS instructions. If so I can send you photos in a PM on this site or give me a few days I can copy them at the local library and send that your way. I’ll check to make sure I have them. -Mark
