spencer1984 Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 Bult from AMT's '72 Cheyenne kit, with a modified frame from Revell's '66 Chevy pickup and the engine from their '69 Nova. The drivetrain is a combination of parts from AMT's '84 GMC and scratch building, with resin wheels from eBay sleeved to fit Monogram's big off-road Goodyears. More info on the build is available here, and as always any comments/criticisms are welcome.
Jantrix Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 Nice work Bill. You always have an eye for authenticity.
PappyD340 Posted November 28, 2019 Posted November 28, 2019 I believe you nailed this one, well done!!
89AKurt Posted November 28, 2019 Posted November 28, 2019 Very nice to see one of these getting-rare kits built. I read your blog description, where do you get felt paper? Detail Master used to have it, but that was decades ago. I have a few of these kits, the promo chassis sure needs work, good to know about the '66. You did this justice, well done!

leafsprings Posted November 29, 2019 Posted November 29, 2019 Great conversion! That would make it a K 10 now.
Plowboy Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 That's a good looking old Chevy truck! What floor pan did you use under the cab?
spencer1984 Posted December 2, 2019 Author Posted December 2, 2019 Thanks, guys! The cab floor is out of the same '66 that donated the frame...I'm not sure if it's 100% accurate here, but it looked close enough for what I wanted and fit the AMT cab surprisingly well.

Doesn't matter IMO. No one would know unless you told them. It give the underside a nice finished look and that matters most to me. The reason I asked is I have a '68 to build sometime and I immediately noticed it in the chassis photo.
BuilderX Posted December 3, 2019 Posted December 3, 2019 Nice Job! It looks real! Love the old chevy Trucks!
Gerald Haney Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 very nice work. The suspension modifications to the AMT kit look very well done.
