Great looking Monte. Your paint finishes are always so smooth, what type of clear are you using ?  I'm vary partial to this body style. We ordered a new 1986 Mont Carlo SS in white with the burgundy interior. We kept it 16 years and got first place at twice with it at Super Chevy Sunday Show at Sears Point in Sonoma California.

No clear, Tamiya TS-14 black doesnt need a clear coat imo. On occasion might wet sand and polish . Most of the time apply a bit of Meguiars Tech Wax 2.0 to remove bmf adhesive that gets left behind after trimming.

You need to post up a paint tutorial.

Have been asked about a tutorial many times, maybe one day.

As they say, its all in the prep. Which is especially true with black. Cant go wrong with Tamiya TS-14 black if you apply it just right over a properly prepared surface
