SSNJim Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Yeah, I've never heard of it either, but it was on the news feed of my TV's screensaver. https://www.foxbusiness.com/lifestyle/hershey-kissmobile-goodbye-new-year
OldTrucker Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Didn't even know such a thing even existed.?
Tom Geiger Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 It's not the greatest product mobile, the iconic one is the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile. That would be a loss! The era of product mobiles started way back in the 1920s or so. Companies had to get their products out there to America before television and even radio. Parades, county fairs and the like. With today's media choices, they are pretty much obsolete. And at least it's going in a museum.
Modelbuilder Mark Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 It looks like the chassis/base of the Kissmobile is similar to the Weinermobile, so it would not surprise me if they were made by the same company. About a year and a half ago, there was one of the older ones, maybe late 70s/early 80s, sitting in a parking lot near my office. I did have to stop and snap a few pics.
Ace-Garageguy Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 The chocolate porter is a bigger story...

I actually saw the Weinermobile driving through New York one day - I went to meet my wife at her offices and it drove right past from behind me - sure is eye catching when you see a huge sausage coming at ya! ?
Dave Van Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 I can't find any mobile anything........???????

Enemy infiltration mission to palm off phony phranks, made with mechanically separated (aka "White Slime") turkey, mechanically separated chicken and pork, as the gen-OO-wine article. Oscar Mayer Wieners are the are the unholy anti-frankfurter. The only REAL hot dogs, made with nuthin' but beef, authorized for human consumption here are Sabrett's in dirty water dog carts and Nathan's Famous from the grill, not cooked
OldNYJim Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Luckily enough I’m close enough to Coney Island that I eat there pretty regularly - I’m a big fan of their fries too! I noticed the other day that they sell frogs legs now (maybe they always did) but I think I’ll stick with the hot dogs for now...

I'm a lucky man, as my local provisioner stocks both. Eating Oscar Meyer dogs makes me think of salted snot, boiled in a balloon.

You do have to admit that all hot dogs are made from pink slime - just some is pinker than the other. Still, I eat them (even the turkey ones sometimes). Next I'll be trying tofu-dogs.
