Old Buckaroo Posted Tuesday at 01:12 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:12 PM Michael - I line the bottom of my paint booth with a large sheet of artist drawing paper, dust free, bright white and all I have to do is tape the outer edges. Once it starts to look like inner city graffiti I replace it. 1

I also painted the front and rear suspension. 3
JollySipper Posted Wednesday at 11:43 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:43 PM That Cadillac is gonna be a stunner! That's some pretty paint.... Over-sized factory wheels ALWAYS works, too! 1

Moved the front axle forward and mocked up a blower on the nailhead. I really want to run hilborn injection on this, but the blower just looks mean. John, where did you source the Nailhead from it looks really good, Jim D.

I got it in a trade with a member here on the forum, and I'm adapting the manifold and super charger from the copperhead dragster to fit. Not sure what kit the nailhead was originally from.
Jim Dodson Posted yesterday at 12:40 AM Posted yesterday at 12:40 AM Thanks for your reply, John. I have a several decades old glue bomb rescue 1959 Buick Invicta convertible project that will get either a nailhead if I find a good one or the Chevy 409 left over from the 1959 Impala kit I stole the frame from. LOL Jim D. 1
Beans Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago First time using color shift paint. Pretty happy with the way it has turned out so far. Will see how clear coat turns out... 5
Lownslow Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago got the body completely painted now for final assembly and decals. 3
iamsuperdan Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago What did I accomplish recently? Well, I have a project I'm working on. Initial plan was just to change the factory wheels. So I 3d printed a set of wheels and tires. But... Then I decided it needed a new engine, so I 3d printed a new Hellcat V8 in what I thought was properly scaled to 1/25. Then I decided the new engine looked too small, so I found dimensions for the real thing, calculated it out to 1/24 scale and reprinted it. Then I decided THAT looked too small. It's the same size as the stock 360ci V8. Plus I got the placement of some of the pulleys wrong. So now I'm re-sizing it up to almost 1/20 scale and 3d printing and building a third engine. Plus, the 2nd engine didn't fit too well, so I bought the files for a full tube frame front end to swap into the kit. Which means all new suspension and brakes. But it will have functioning steering, something old AMT kits just don't have. Which means cutting apart the frame and reconfiguring the radiator and body mounts and all of that fun stuff. This thing is snowballing from a simple quick build to something far more complicated. 🤪 3

FoMoCo66 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Got a moch up of the amt 40 willys truck. Did a lot of modifications such as cutting part of the fender away from the body and attaching it to the nose and a lot of body line sanding. I plan on doing a poseable front axle, using a different motor (dont know what yet, FE Ford maybe?), and shortening the bed just a tad. I also cant decide on wrinkle wall or pie crust slicks. Sorry for the bad photo, the truck was being held up with white glue and hope, didnt feel like moving it. 2

Michael, I may have missed it........ What kind of paint are you using on the Skyline? White is a difficult color to paint! The best luck I've had with white was DupliColor 'Performance White' in the touch-up cans........

It just wouldnt lay right, plus the color I was gonna go with just didnt wanna seem right. Gonna reshoot it, and go with a combo I have used before. I usually shoot Tamiya spray. The last time I used the Mr. Color, no issues but this body is fighting me on white, plus I have a good window on completing this yet.
