Steamboat Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 Just a little something I'm working on for a club Corvette theme build. It's not a true double-ender, but just carries the front-end styling over to the rear. Carving up the sides to mirror the coves would be a nightmare. I'm planning on using red lenses for the rear "headlights" and running the exhaust out through the turn signal openings.
Snake45 Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 Great idea! It's gonna look better than the original! Drive on!
DonW Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 Genius! Makes me think of this kind of taillight. Just the round bit.

TarheelRick Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 Going to be an interesting build. I bought a bag of '57 Corvette parts at last year's CKM show. It has at most of three bodies, a couple frames and interiors and some other parts. You are giving me some ideas on what I could do with this mess.
Koellefornia Kid Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 Really like this idea! Should look cool with red lenses!
Steamboat Posted March 9, 2020 Author Posted March 9, 2020 I made some progress on the '57. The body work is nearly done and I've moved on to the chassis. I'm attempting to fit some Z06 wheels that I cloned from an AMT C6. The rear tubs have been widened and just need to be finished. Trying to go back with leaf springs mounted on the frame rails to simplify the build. We'll see how it goes ?!
peteski Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 (edited) Cool idea! I sometimes see a 1:1 truck build in this style in my neck of the woods. It is 2 cabs back-to-back. And just like what you want to do, it has red taillight lenses in the red "headlight" buckets. When I first saw it on the highway I had a double-take! Edited March 10, 2020 by peteski
David G. Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 I'm interested to see how this one plays out. David G.
Steamboat Posted April 9, 2020 Author Posted April 9, 2020 Starting on the interior. It's painted with Testors Italian Red acrylic. Possibly the best dash I have ever done. My Molotow pen quit working so I dumped the ink into a vial and painted it on with a brush. I like the results even better than with the pen! Gauge faces are 5- minute epoxy.
Oldcarfan27 Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Next you could take the back ends from what's left and put them together and call it "Double Butt".
