Rbray47 Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 This ones a little dusty, apparently my display case has a leak somewhere... I combined the Firestone Ford with a 92 flareside kit. Converted to round 78 lights. I used the complete chassis from the 92, which only required a little bit of modification. The inner fenders and underhood of each truck were very different, so I found it easier to modify the cab to fit. The engine is the 92's 351 with a revell 302 intake and parts box supercharger with scratchbuilt mounts. Like my other Fords, the trim and drip rails were made with .020 styrene rod.
espo Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 Very nice conversion. I noticed the added moldings around the rear fender color break, looks like something the factory should have done. The engine is great looking and the stance looks good.
Metalbeast Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 Wow... seamless combination! Everything looks exactly like it belongs. I really like the weathered tone you got on the exhaust system. I may have to take a crack at this combination.
spencer1984 Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 Great job combining the kits, that looks fantastic!
Modlbldr Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Nice conversion work. I like how you turned it into a round headlight grill. Got any in progress photos of how you did that? I grew up with a 78 F250 Ranger XLT Supercab. I'd love to do a build of that truck and I'm interested in any info of how to convert the grill. Later-

Later- No progress pics on this phone. I built it about 5 years ago.
