Back when I first got into models as an adult, a lot of guys were getting Collectible Automobile Magazine as a source for replica stock build research before the proliferation of the internet. It was expensive and it seemed as soon as you re- upped your subscription, they’d start sending out subscription notices for the next year.

i thought about this recently when I saw they were still publishing, although I haven’t seen the magazine for years. Today have people moved on to the Internet or is this magazine still a staple in the hobby?  I haven’t seen a copy at club meetings or shows in eons.

I've been a reader since the second issue, have always appreciated the content and photos they provide. It's one of the only publications I have found which has (mostly) escaped the curse of using AutoCorrect instead of proof-reading their copy. I gave up subscribing due to damage inflicted by the post office, but I prefer to support my local magazine retailers when I can.

I've been a subscriber for about 30 years, been reading for about 35 years.  The only car magazine I still have a print subscription to.

Mine copy still arrives in my mailbox every 2 months. Still as good as ever (and no ads, but  you have to pay for that).  While not as useful for modeling reference material as it was before Internet, the articles and columns in it are still very interesting and worth the subscription cost.

It's always at the local Barnes & Noble.  I got my Dad a copy of the first issue and a subscription.  He got it for years, and the text and photos were really good.  It was a good reference, and Dennis Doty's model car articles were informative.

X2.   subscriber since the second issue.  This magazine consistently has authoritative, in depth info you won't find on the internet.  Highly, highly recommended.   TIM
