I think you did quite well considering it doesn't have the original tires, has what looks like a slight gouge or defect in the rear edge of the trunk lid, some wear on the chrome, and paint added to the exhaust tips and hood vents.  It's a nice color combination, too.  The rear bumper doesn't fit very well, either.  My '67 GTO promo has a twist in the rear bumper on the driver's side.  I always liked the '66 better.

66 convert, minty for 299 BIN on auction now.

A mint looking hard top in "Charcoal Blue" on ebay as well with bidding at $227.00.

Yeah, I would say that you did considerably better than it was probably worth, unless the gold is an extremely rare color or something.

I have a question. Do you even build models or are you just using this site as a price guide and feel good meter on selling stuff?

Asking info on kits is one thing, getting values and then telling us how much you made is another.

So what is it?

Steve,

yes the gold cars are a little unusual to find. I think they were called Tiger Gold if memory serves me right. Not the easiest to find, but not impossible either.

Im sure color played a part in sales price  ( when it comes to promos color plays a BIG part in final value ) . But even at that $200 or more is more than that car was worth. so the seller did great ,. Hopefully buyer is happy with the purchase.

Being familiar with dealer promos I would have said $100 was all that car was worth. Then again,,,,maybe the buyer needed that color and that color only to fill a hole in a collection and didnt want to pay up for a mint car. Odds are we will never know

My question is, did you set the price or was it bid up to that amount?

If it was bid to that amount,  then the market dictated the price and that's what they wanted to pay. No guilt in whether they were satisfied - that's what THEY felt it was worth!

Reading that, I formed an initial opinion that he does not and is just trying to find out if this "old junk" that he found is worth anything before throwing it out.

Angry people. Would you not do the same. You can’t find everything by google. Try to make some money for my family. Sorry if I came of bragging. Would it make you feel better if you knew I threw a small boxes of models away before even thinking there would be value. Fink. I thought you were here to make models great again. Ha sorry dude. Feeling a little to much shelter in place. Ehhhh

For future reference, you can quickly determine the current value of almost anything by searching Completed Auctions on eBay.

And FWIW, I think you've come here and abused our good will. You apparently have no real interest in model cars. Is your name really "Joe Smith"?

225$. Not bad ehhh

I think you should be arrested, and the guy who gave you $225 for that should be locked up in a padded room.
