I have already read the complete build up covered in another magazine. Looks like this will be everything we all hoped for.

That one's a '68.

And the two taxis are sedans, not hardtops.

Looks like raising the roof a bit shouldn't be overly tough.  If I get one of the Impalas though, I was thinking about a Caprice four-door...

It's the idea that intrigues me. And who doesn't have Plastruct in their arsenal?

Yeah, the sedan roofline is different from the hardtop--taller, rear window is more vertical (thus a thicker C-pillar).   Side window openings differ since the doors have window frames.   Very different from the 4dr ht.

I don't. Too hard to cement.

I do have loads of Evergreen styrene, though. B)

I predict that Round Two will get a ton of parts requests for “missing” flat hoods that people will want for their 2 door hardtops!

Thats what happened when Revell came out with 66 ElCamino..

Plastruct does offer styrene.  Their ABS products are the usual dark gray, their styrene products are white.

I've never seen those anywhere around me, just gray Plastruct and lovely white Evergreen. B)

I do have Evergreen as well, but Plastruct is what I originally used. Sorry to have confused you.

I think like most, I'll get the more door '67 Impala and the '63 Ford XL is a must for old time sake. All of the others I actually have original issues in the stash. Since I haven't built them by now the chances of buying additional kits is very remote.

When I started back model building in the late 80's i wish i would have started collecting kits...

I never started out with the intent of becoming a collector. I would see a kit that was of interest too me and I would buy at least one and often two with idea that I would want to build a couple different styles. For so many years my work schedule as well as life in general got in the way of building many models. I never stopped buying models that appealed to me, so after many years before I retired I just kept accumulating unbuilt models for the future.

I got back to the hobby about 30 years ago. Back then a certain dealer had new issues at $6 each or would sell you a mixed case for $60. I’d buy extras i really wasn’t that interested in, or duplicates to fill out the case.  So I still have plenty of cheaply acquired kits to part out.
