Gramps46 Posted May 11, 2020 Posted May 11, 2020 A member urged me to post some of my old school models built in the day so here goes. It is a Strombecker D Jaguar built up as raced at Le Mans in 1954. I used parts from a Revel XKE kit for the engine and front chassis. A tail fin has been added along with the driving light and a few other details. I just noticed the number plate was made with dry transfers back in the days before we could make our own decals. The paint was polished, no clear. A sign of its age are the 2 part plastic tires. 1
Rich Chernosky Posted May 11, 2020 Posted May 11, 2020 Gary, considering its age and when it was done, this is a darn fine model. Thanks for going the extra mile.
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 11, 2020 Posted May 11, 2020 Absolutely beautiful. I've been working on something similar, but based on the ancient Lindberg curbside kit.
williamdp Posted May 11, 2020 Posted May 11, 2020 OK Gary .. if this is a teaser, then I cannot wait to see more ? I am impressed.
peekay Posted May 11, 2020 Posted May 11, 2020 Very impressive, a beautiful model of a beautiful racer.
