Peter Lombardo Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 This started life as a 1966 Mustang convertible Indy 500 pace car version. Grafted on the roof from a 1994 Mustang. Opened doors, added hood vents and wheels and tires from Fujimi 17 inch BBS wheels. Tamiya silver leaf with Tamiya light gun metal stripes.

webestang Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 I didn't think that roof would look OK, till I saw the pics of your build. Nicely done.
vamach1 Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 Very cool combination of an older and newer Mustang and well executed. Maybe this could be Eleanor's younger sister.?
espo Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 I like the way the later roof looks on this. Great paint and stripes.
Peter Lombardo Posted June 1, 2020 Author Posted June 1, 2020 Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words. I really enjoy taking parts from one and seeing how they look on another, glad that this one worked out. I have two more Mustangs underway,
Snake45 Posted June 2, 2020 Posted June 2, 2020 I think this works so well because the top's profile is very similar to the original '65-'66 Mustang fastback top's. The side windows and enlarged backlight then bring the shape into the 21st Century (and in real life would be more practical from a visibility standpoint, as well). Again, nicely done!
Koellefornia Kid Posted June 6, 2020 Posted June 6, 2020 Cool! I often used ´90s Mustang kits for parts for other projects (engines and interiors) and sometimes I thought about using the roof on an earlier Mustang body. Now I know it can look great, so thanks for the inspiration! I also like the hood vents and the paint design, really suits the car!
