I picked up some built model cars from the 1960s from the original owner that he built when the kits were new. There are some very interesting custom models and I have lots of restoring to do. There was also a few boxes of spare parts with enough bits to finish several of the models. I have already put the 63 Nova in the paint stripper :)

Wow, fabulous score! There are at least a couple I'd try to restore/rescue as true survivors. Others are suitable for a full strip and rebuild. B)

So, is it your plan to restore them in the vein of the original build style or are you planning to rebuild in your own style ( or some combination thereof)?

That corvette is giving me ideas.

Very nice! I envy you so hard right now. Although if I'd had that one, I'd have been tempted to "rescue" and Snake-Fu it and display it as a proud survivor. I hope you do something GREAT with it--good luck! B)

Good luck on the Nova! Do you need taillight bezels? I've cast some.

If you want a hood with no hole in it there are three on eBay right now from seller vintagemodelcarparts.

Well, the 57 Ford is out of the Super Clean after almost a week. The original body work and molding is very good and needs very little touch-up. Time for a coat of primer and paint, using Testors Mystic Emerald  :)

What a great score! Whoever built them was a real craftsman- the body work is excellent. Personally, I hope you keep some as is. Thanks much for sharing!
