Have made towing eyes

Sprayed top coat on white and grey primers

38_online

Chose - white.

Interior treated the same way

Black parts. By the way: what color should be firewall painted? Instruction says - black. But I guess it must be body color?

41_online

Chrome parts were socked in acid for drainpipes cleaning

Though face & tail bumper were treated with sand paper.

I think you would be safe either way on the fire wall. There is always so much "Stuff" on the fire wall that they look black in most photos. However they are painted body color from the factory. They always have insulation and black plastic panels that cover the body color. So, black would be a fine choice as that is what you would normally see.

As for the build, you are doing a great job. This thing is fantastic. I love all the extra details you have put into it, great job, keep it up.

Oh, and the added fender extensions here in the USA are called "Fender Flares" if aftermarket or "Wheel Arch Moldings" if from the factory. You did a great job making those, they look perfect.

Firewall body color, under body over spray body color over gray primer with black frame. I have a 01 and have spent some time under it.

I would go with wrenchr's suggestion. I have owned a '74, a '79, and a '95. All had body colored firewalls with the body sealer he mentioned along the bottom edge. I like how you masked off the chrome trim for the grill and front bumper.

wheel arc overlays (correct me if It wrong term)

We call those "fender flares". Good looking build, really like the blue color!

Hi, Gents!

Have sprayed discs with black gloss

46_online

Next - Alclad: polished aluminum. It turned out so-so (sorry I didn't take a picture). So I rubbed some more Ginsun powder on it. Get better.

I sprayed the cab and body with Kudo clear gloss can. First - the tail gate, using the balloon. It spits. Poured out the varnish for the airbrush. It's better, but there's orange peel on top coat anyway.

I've tried different metallics. An interesting effect is given by burnt metal from Mr color.

Polished exterrior.

Enjoy the pictures!

What's the name or code of that blue color Sergey?  It's simply gorgeous and I would be interested to use this kind of blue on one of my builds.

It is Mobihel 47085002

There is another number on a can: s-0001326257.

Good luck, Francis!

Thanks for the info Sergey, however I realise that this is a product from Russia so I will have to find something equivalent in North America!  Thanks anyway, Francis

Glad to see you're getting back to this build, I thought maybe I missed it in Under Glass some time ago. Great looking Grill and Bumpers.

Beautifull! I need to strip my bumper and try to make it as nice as yours! For the tail light reflectors, did you use putty or whats your tecnique? I am now making progress on my gluebomb rescue from when i was young, for the Cannonbal run build, so it will mostly be Silverado body and C5-R under the skin ?

Thank you, Anton!

I used Tamiya's epoxy putty to make tail light reflectors. Then I treated they with Dremel like tool. Good luck to you!
