Sam I Am Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 This is a monster of a load that just reached its destination in Clive Utah. Do any of you big rig builders have the room to replicate this? https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/business/story/2020-07-20/770-ton-load-from-san-onofre-nuclear-plant-finishes-trip-to-ut&ved=2ahUKEwjE3K-ylt3qAhVDFjQIHe8WDh8QFjABegQIBBAC&usg=AOvVaw0FQRXL22Xc-syvNR9e5EaA&cshid=1595294331762
iamsuperdan Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 I see your 770 ton load, and raise you 800. ? https://www.mammoet.com/news/mammoet-transports-vessel-over-alberta-highways/ What's interesting, is this one took three days for the trip from Edmonton to Fort Saskatchewan. In normal conditions, that's a 20 minute drive. Can you imagine building this? There's at least 6 tractors. How many of those Moebius wheel kits would you need? lolz.
Rob Hall Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 Anyone have an idea what the 2nd truck in this photo is? Has an offset cab, very heavy duty looking.
stitchdup Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 Hows about 4891 tonnes? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/video/sciencetech/video-1471485/Watch-record-breaking-mover-transport-4-891-tonne-evaporator.html the heaviest uk load is only 640 tonnes though https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2508878/Biggest-load-transported-Britains-roads-weighing-SPACE-SHUTTLE-crawls-destination-4mph.html I was always quite taken by the older vehicles they used in the uk, unfortunatetly I cant link the pic to the site direct so it has to be another web link https://www.flickr.com/photos/a-l-e-s/5257552686/in/pool-1221581@N22
