Another very cool contemporary build!  Wouldn't have thought of that colour but I like it.

Your roadster really strikes a nerve for me because, over thirty  years ago ( how does this happen?) I started a very similar model.  I started with the old Revell SWC Wllys and like you, removed the coupe roof, built a wrap around , waterfall interior shape with two buckets and sat it down low.  I do like what you did with the 36 style cowl - might have to pinch that idea.  My version was more a kitbash than a parts potpourri because I elected to use the floor, running gear and interior from, of all things, a Monogram Chevy Citation, putting the transverse V6 in the trunk.  I never resolved some windshield design issues  so it has sat languishing all this time.

Now I see your result and I am scratching my head wondering why I never pushed on and finished it?  It needs to be finished - then they will be like brothers of a different mother!

Hi Alan!

Thank you for the comments. Actually, when I removed the roof from that 41, it was because I needed it to complete the severe chop on another identical Willys... And guess what: that one became... Rear Engine Powered... (see pix),

So, please, complete your Willys, They gonna be "triplets" of sorts. Funny...

It was featured on this forum about 18 months ago. You may be able to search and find it... Unless the recent re-shuffle of categories got it lost in the ether?

I think I listed it under "drag racing cars", or "other racers"... Can't remember. Getting older by the day, alas...

Nice to see someone take the '41 Willys down a path seldom taken by modelers. That being to street rod it instead of another nose bleed high gasser.

Thanks for the comments. Much appreciated.

I, also, am not very found of mile-high gasser. Today, I bought the Willys Panel (Simple Simon) gasser, BUT, I will do a low slung tightly packed street rod with it. It's a kit I built as a 10 years old back then. 

Nostalgia maybe, but... with a 21st century twist.
