Tom Geiger Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Since Tim just mentioned this kit and Lee posted his stock coupe in response, I’m responding to Lee with my sedan. As I mentioned in Tim’s thread I got all the way to paint before someone pointed out that the roof was too square on this kit. So I took the body and sanded the edge down on the roof sides a bit. I don’t know how well I did, but I had a lot of time into this one so I was gonna finish it! If the body looks low it’s because the body is sectioned, the roof is not chopped.
espo Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 This is so cool looking. So many little details that you just need to look at the pictures for a while to take in everything that has been changed. The engine ? Flat head 6 cyl. Those tail lights ? The roof looks good to me but the rear window looks almost to large. The dash out of an early Studebaker ? The seat material and the blanket floor and door panels. A lot to take in here.
doorsovdoon Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Very nice, lots of cool detail. The weathering looks great.

That is the flathead six from 41 Plymouth kit. Tail lights are parts box big truck cab lights, I was thinking 61 Plymouth. Dash is 53 Stude. Seat covers were made from Taco Bell brown napkins to look like burlap. I made the front seat. Carpet is a doll house Victorian carpet I printed.
Tom Geiger Posted September 8, 2020 Author Posted September 8, 2020 Here’s the section... I cut out the marked area. Top sat right back down!
Classicgas Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Very cool. What engine is that? What did you use for the carpet?

Engine is from 41 Plymouth. Carpet is a Victorian rug that I printed to 1/24 scale on a dollhouse miniatures site. It’s just printed on paper and white glued. The bench seat started as the kit’s buckets, I filled in the middle. The high back look is because the interior is sectioned to match the body. I made a six ball shifter instead of the typical eight ball since the car has a flathead six. Edited September 8, 2020 by Tom Geiger
Tom Geiger Posted September 8, 2020 Author Posted September 8, 2020 I didn’t expect a big response so I just posted the original pix quickly. Rear wheels are MPC 28 Lincoln. I made decal on tire cover.. I scanned a 1918 postcard that’s in my collection.
AmericanMuscleFan Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 Very cool build Tom! You have a good imagination and a very large parts bin as I can see... good proof of your long experience in the hobby! I really like the personalized "RED RUM" license plate, it reminds me of the movie "The Shining".
