Thanks, I didn't want to post any copyrighted pics. Your brother in law built some beautiful train models. Too bad hollywood destroys all that fine craftsmanship, lol. I couldn't put in all that time and see it destroyed in a few seconds, even if I was getting paid for it.

Interesting about the "scrap pile" along the Great Smoky Mountains RR.  I had planned on taking that excursion last month, I figured the fall leaves in that area would be at prime color.  Unfortunately I broke my ankle on Saturday before my planned trip on Monday.   Maybe I can go in the spring when everything is coming back to life.

In the movie "40 Days and 40 Nights" there's a Taxi being built. No idea if it's an actual kit or something made up but looks cool.

In the final season of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.", there is an episode where one of the characters is stuck in the 1980s, and kills time by building model cars.  There are a few shots of '80s vintage Revell boxes along with the models.

Loved everything about that episode, it was a hoot !! 

 

But most of the models were from the '90s or newer.

It's very real Gareth. 

Don't let the "snap kit" thing throw you, it's actually a nice, full kit that later lost the "snap" to become a full glue kit of the Impala SS.
