Subaru WRX Police Cruiser

Tamiya's Subaru WRX World Rally Car kit built as a Victorian (Australia) Police Highway Patrol Vehicle.

Kit box stock except for treaded tires swapped in from parts box.

Light bar and antennae all scratchbuilt with homemade decals and number plates "MAD 555" as a tribute to Subaru Rall Team's famous 555 sponsorship.

I built this many years ago and thought it deserved an airing.

That's kind of a scary thought! The cops are sometimes a little out of control in the vehicles they have. I can't imagine them turned loose in a full boat rally car.

Tim, the Police here did in fact run Subaru WRXs, the standard versions, not the rally versions.

I can see the running standard versions. Plus those are a little heavier and have less power.

Thanks for sharing!  I like the light bar detail, that probably took as much time as the rest of the project.  I have the kit in my stash, along with an engine, someday......
