  1. wow, really appreciate you posting this at this time. I am currently working on the IMC version of the J-Car and like yourself, have found it very hard to find a lot of information about it. From what I can gather is there were 2 different breadvan versions done, J-1 and J-2. It does seem both of these kits, the MPC and the IMC are not fully accurate to either version but seem to be a combination of the two. The MPC does look to be a lot more accurate than the IMC one but it looks like the IMC version is the only one that does not have the vents right behind the doors. There is also an Airfix version which looks to be the most accurate version with the correct front end that the MPC version is not quite correct. I think I ended up spending more time researching than I did any actual building. It would be amazing to see a company like Meng revisit this breadvan style of J-car and do a more modern take on this very important piece of history. Thank you so much for your post, it has helped me greatly in my own research and your build looks amazing. I completely understand the challenges of the body parts and I have not quite got to that point in my build yet but I do anticipate some difficulties getting it to all sit together properly in the end.
  2. Thank you! Yeah, me also. I remember going to the local Pontiac dealer more than once and wanting to buy a Trans-Am but they never had the right front end on them. haha. Thanks!
  3. Thank you. I am always looking for feedback on the videos also. Helps to get good and bad feedback but it is great to hear people enjoy the videos. Thank you very much. The white and black I think helps with the look! Thanks. Thank you.
  4. Thank you very much. Thanks for saying. I am glad I took the risk. Fully worth it IMO. I've never seen the movie to be honest. I really should. I just kind of love the car. Thanks! Thank you. Hope the video was beneficial. Thanks for your kind words. Thank you so much. I really like the HT as well. Now that Aoshima is doing a fully new tooling, I am going to have to get that one and build a red one. Just kinda love the car. Thank you. Yes, I thought this as well, very E type, which as always been one of my favorite convertibles. That or the D type. Drool! Thanks!!! I would love to get my hands on the MPC version, just for something different. Thanks very much.
  5. Dayum, that looks amazing. Love it.
  6. This kit is pretty high on my wanted list. The color you chose is great. Love the results.
  7. Those rims! wow, looks great.
  8. Those outside shots are amazing. This really looks great.
  9. The green is perfect. Love the end results. Really makes me want to get on my own Datsun kit.
  10. Wow, I love the end results and the diorama is great. I totally want this kit now! haha.
  11. Love love love this kit. I will be getting more of the Aoshima Evo X kits including that police one they announced. Always loved everything about the Evo X and the kit is a joy to build. Full build video on YouTube. Thanks for taking a look!
  12. Always was a big Knight Rider fan, so it was a no brainer to build the model. This is actually the second time I have done this kit but the first time I filmed the entire process for YouTube. The build on YouTube is here: Thanks for taking a look!
  13. I really love the look of this car but thought the convertible was even better. I have been holding onto this kit for a while, thinking about how I wanted to build it and then I just figured, go with it, make it the convertible. I cut off the roof and got to it. Here is end results. I am actually really happy with it and it is a shame Toyota never did this officially as it really is stunning in convertible form. If you want to see exactly how I did the work, full build video is on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/H_wrSMZUYco Thanks for taking a look.
  14. Thanks, I wish it did! Thank you. Thanks! Thank you. Appreciated. Thanks. I agree, as a wagon fan, this works for me. The windows just help to sell it! Thanks. why thank you! Agree, this concept just does seem to work for the body style. Thank you!
  15. Thank you! Nope, me neither until I saw this kit. Some interesting history on this car. I actually didn't get any decals or anything with this kit. (not sure if the stripe is decals or not) I only found references for this car in blue (with different types of stripes) and a convertible version in red with no stripe. I figured, hey, lets try something different! Why thank you. Thanks very much.
  16. I had no idea this even existed. What a very cool piece. Question: what is that orange car in the background here? Very interesting.
  17. Love it love it love it.
  18. Another older AMT kit done. This Grand Sport kit has its issues like any other kit from the 90s. Still enjoyed this one a lot. Thanks for looking!
  19. I did lower it slightly, but not too much. maybe 2mm or 3mm. Kind of thought the tucked look with those flares would be nice. Thanks! Thank you. Yeah, it is loud. Hope you have your sunglasses. haha. It is a real shame all those 70's cars are so rare now due to the rust.
  20. A quick build on this classic car. Fujimi did a great job on this one and it went together very easily. Full build on YouTube.
  21. Looks awesome. Nice to see one done. This is a kit I definitely want to build myself eventually. You did a great job.
