zakdoggi Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 This is an Esci kit of the Ford Escort Mk II. Built box stock with white rattle can finish over the clear body. Paint has yellowed with age. Cheers....Geoff
stitchdup Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 Sweet, one of my fav rally cars when i was a kid. it was always fun to watch them drifting 25 years before it got popular
GeeBee Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 Very nice, brings back happy memories of being at the start of the Lombard rally back in 1978, my dad was working for Lombard Noth Central until he retired, the sponsors, of the rally, I got a VIP pass, and could go anywhere i wanted, meeting all the rally drivers, it was a terrible day weather wise, very dark and raining but that didn't spoil the day, still got my high vis jacket from the day.....
Husky1943 Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 Very nice, Geoff! I never pictured a Ford Escort as any kind of racing vehicle. Very unique!
espo Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 Great looking Rally Car. I still see these on You Tube Videos of Rally Races in Europe still.
Bugatti Fan Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 (edited) What with the newish Belkits Mark 1 Escort Rally Cars as well as the old Esci Mark 2 kit as featured the Ford 60's and 70's Rally Cars are quite well represented. Motobitz in the UK can supply a number of alternative decals and resin parts for the Mk 1 kits. Many years ago there was a company named MRM in the UK that did the same for the Esci Mk 2 kits, now sadly defunct. The Cossack mens grooming sponsorship decals were one of their items. Would have been nice if someone had done a conversion kit to make it into an RS2000 road car. Edited September 29, 2020 by Bugatti Fan
doorsovdoon Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Nice. I've owned four of these in my time but all stock versions. I remember my dad watching World of Sport on the weekends and seeing these drifting and flying down the forest roads. These things can shift!
