The German Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Hello friends of beautiful model making, ... may I present you my Jaguar XK-120? There is not much to say about this. A model that was fun to build. The convertible top was covered with genuine leather. Wafer-thin. Only 0.1mm to 0.3mm thick. This model is one of my all time favorites. So, let's be looking at it. Your opinion on this would be interesting. And, as always, greetings from Germany, Uwe.
Spruslayer Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Excellent work.Thats a kit i wish was in my stash.
DonW Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Well done. It looks like the bonnet opens, does it have an engine?
BVC500 Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Nice job, and I like the leather covered convertible top. I just got this kit and look forward to building it.
The German Posted September 24, 2020 Author Posted September 24, 2020 First, many thanks for comments! @DonW: Yes, there's a engine in it. It's a 6 cyl. I got just one picture from the workbench.
doorsovdoon Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Beautiful build, a real British classic
Hard_2_Handle_454 Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Came out amazing. I might have to pick one up now.
robertw Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Is this the model that started as a diecast kit then was released by Revell as a plastic kit? I picked up the plastic version when it came out over fear that I'd never see it again, which I didn't. Glad I picked one up, seeing your well done model makes me want to dig mine out of the stash.
The German Posted September 25, 2020 Author Posted September 25, 2020 And again: Many thanks, folks! That's very nice!
The German Posted September 27, 2020 Author Posted September 27, 2020 Here as well, many thanks for this nice answers! Dankeschön! ? I wish everybody here a nice Sunday!
Oldcarfan27 Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 I didn't know Revell made a kit of one of these. My favorite Jag, I like it better than the XKE. The only one I ever knew of was the Monogram Diecast hybrid from almost 40 years ago and I've never found one of those since then.
Dominik Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 Sehr schön Uwe! ich hatte an meinem versäumt, den Gießgrat an den Seiten zu entfernen...hatte eine schöne Linie danach ? Very nice Uwe! i missed to remove the moldingline on both sides..looked interesting. And i mounted the fenderskirts for a smooth look.
The German Posted September 29, 2020 Author Posted September 29, 2020 Dankeschön, Dominik! Naja, Mist passiert... Ähnliches hatte ich auch schon...? Thank you all very much! @ Dominik: Bad things are happen sometimes. Something similar happens to me...
