DoctorLarry Posted December 18, 2020 Author Posted December 18, 2020 Back seat was Testor's white enamel, which is very thin. It needs another coat.
Dominik Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 that interesting Larry! Had you built the body from scratch or used a donor?
DoctorLarry Posted December 18, 2020 Author Posted December 18, 2020 Built from scratch. I built a 73 Buick Gran Sport and used that as a basis. I also did a 76 Century Pace Car and took the formal roof from that. All scratch built.
AMT68 Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 (edited) Interior looks nice. I always liked either the blue or red with white seats interior combination Buick offered in the mid-70's. Pontiac also offered that combination in those years. Also forgot to mention the TS-54 on the carpets sets a nice contrast to the door panels. I'll have to remember that one as I like to use Tamiya paints. Edited December 18, 2020 by AMT68
DoctorLarry Posted December 29, 2020 Author Posted December 29, 2020 Painted up a dash and console. Very hard to paint small details on these!
doorsovdoon Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 Nice. I like the blue and white colour scheme. Love these big old 70's Buicks.
NOBLNG Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 Very nice! I had a ‘75 Regal...silver with a blue corduroy-ish interior.
Captain Spaulding Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 It's coming along good, like the colors you chose for the interior.
DoctorLarry Posted January 24, 2021 Author Posted January 24, 2021 Almost done with the body. Shot some white paint on it. I need to tweak a couple of body lines and it will be ready for clay. The grill panel dropped down a tad in the picture. It fits flush up against the body.
AMT68 Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 The Century body looks great. I always liked the sweeping fender lines on the '73 to '75 model years.
RomanII Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 You have done amazing work so far. I would respectfully suggest some block sanding to make the T-Top panels more flush with the body. They look a little tall in the saddle. But do remember, your Century Indy Pace Car is worlds better than the one I will never even start.

Some of those details need to be 'exaggerated' on the master so that they become 'normal' during the casting process . In essence , those T-Top would be faint on the casting if they were 'normal' on the master .
DoctorLarry Posted January 27, 2021 Author Posted January 27, 2021 Paper copy of decals taped on. These are Fred Cady and I believe 1/24 scale. They are a little too big. Note on T Tops. They are kind of hard to model correctly.

DoctorLarry Posted January 27, 2021 Author Posted January 27, 2021 They do stick up a little. I will try to smooth them down. The moldings also are not squared off but beveled. I had a T Top car so I remember what they were like. Building a body from scratch, like I do, is like sculpture combined with trial and error. It takes awhile to get right.
Timonator Posted January 28, 2021 Posted January 28, 2021 (edited) I love the decals Edited January 28, 2021 by Timonator

Mike F. Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 I would love to see the end result of this build.
