ChrisBcritter Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 That is one massive rescue! Please post new photos if you redo the bumpers, so we can see the difference.

So I removed and re-did the bumper chrome by using gloss black enamel vs the lacquer I used first. While I still like using the enamel better than lacquer in this case as a base I'm not sure the problem originally wasn't just poor coverage on my part. Each time I use the Spaz Stix in the rattle can I learn more on how, and how much, to apply. I see a big difference in person, but I'm not sure you guys see as much. Lesson learned I guess. And that's all part of the fun of the hobby.
ChrisBcritter Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 Definitely improved; did you get closer to the bumpers or spray a heavier coat?

I think somewhere along the way I'd read that heavier coats wouldn't yield a shiny finish, but to rather shoot light coats from a distance. I won't say I laid down a "wet coat" on these but they were much heavier than I've done in the past. I'm happy with the results. A light polish after they're dry really helps too. Dave Darby Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Well that was certainly no walk in the park! While I collect and preserve (some) survivors and I do like the before version, it looks great now! You did a beautiful job on it. You did it proud.

Geno Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Absolutely beautiful save. I love the '60 Dodges. Dad had a black one like this when I was a kid.💯😎
