I kind of lost interest in this kit shortly after I started it so I decided to modify it . Not sure if I made it better or worse . Hood is glued shut . I cut a hole in it and mounted a partial engine from underside . I enlarged the wheel wells and used parts box wheels and tires . Made a bed cover . No underside detail so it is a slammer . Painted with Tamiya light blue . Side pipes from parts box .

That's a cool looking little Subaru Ray! Very believable. Like something someone would do in their backyard or garage. Does this kit have an engine? I've never had one.

I really like your concept Ray, of turning it into a curbside/slammer with a kit that was so-so; I have a few of them. By providing a partial engine underneath a shut hood revitalizes many of the odd ball curbsides I have. Great looking build.

Doesn’t matter whether you made it better or worse as long as you had fun doing it. FWIW, my vote is for “better.” I like it! Now I need to pick up one of those Brat kits because you’ve just inspired a build idea.... a Brat BRZ drifter.... hmmmm.
