rickcaps55 Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Awesome very nice build but please show a shot of the back.!
TransAmMike Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 As wagons go, that is great looking build Dave.?
Rodent Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Thanks for the tip on the woodgrain. I have one of the 66s and have been searching for the correct shade for the outer wood trim. Everything seems too dark or too yellow, although I think that the 66 trim was lighter than the 63-64. Coincidence that both you and Paul live in the Redding area?

I have one, too, and plan to do mine in Oxford Blue, and yes, the kit itself is outstandingly good. Charlie Larkin Thanks Charlie! The chestnut interior isn't very exotic - just Testors leather (a military color) with dark brown inserts (enamel). I sprayed it all with some Ace Hardware satin clear then Molotow pen for highlights. Your choice of Oxford blue should look awesome. Please post some photos when it's finished.

Coincidence that both you and Paul live in the Redding area? I've known Paul since he was 13. The stories I could tell! Unfortunately for me he recently moved to Florida. I have watched him create masters of many never before offered models and am just amazed by his creative talent. These can take years to develop to his standards.

I have a bunch of '63s, and this is helpful. I plan on doing one in Chestnut because I think it's a very pretty color. When I finally get around to building this, photos will be posted. Paul moved? That's why i haven't seen too many models up the last couple of weeks. Florida- most of California's nice weather at much better prices. Charlie Larkin

There's a '66 I see around here occasionally. I'd suggest starting with Humbrol Cream, followed by a wash mixed from the lightest shade of tan you can find (Radome Tan would be a good choice, Humbrol and Model Master both have it), would get you in the right direction.
