bill-e-boy Posted September 25 Posted September 25 Wow Kit - another way to chop a 32-34 5W coupe. I am liking it a lot. The last time I chopped a 5W I cut and stretched the turret between the A&B and the B&C pillars - a lot of cleanup work with this method. I like the step at the B pillar as this will make alignment when gluing back together a lot less stressful. The treatment at the C pillar is awesome. I am liking all the other stuff happening with this build I will be watching 1

Ace-Garageguy Posted Tuesday at 06:08 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:08 PM I've chopped a lot of '32s and '34s, both lengthening the turret and not. IMHO, the "not" version accomplished here (and a couple of other ways that work on a model but not in full-scale steel or fiberglass) makes the more attractively proportioned car in the end. 1
Spex84 Posted Wednesday at 04:27 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:27 PM (edited) Ditto Bill...I've always found the lengthened-turret chops look a bit foreheady, ya know? My only attempt at chopping a '34 with leaned pillars was significantly more butchered than this, so it's nice to see how I should have done it, and save the photos for next time...thanks for the process photos KK!
