Don Sikora II
This kit was created from all new tooling, with nothing from the original '60s era '60 Starliner, correct? Yes, all new tooling.
250 Testa Rossa
Any idea on how to fix the fitting issues?
1930fordpickup
Thanks guys! I'm on the hunt!!!! Kit number AMT-604 is the one you are looking for.
Tony_B
Thanks much--that will help! Now if I can just find an Edsel somewhere, that's two more off my bucket list!!!!!
Fat Brian
They put out a 58 Edsel Pacer at the same time the Starliner kit was released in the mid 2000's, it shouldn't be hard to find and is a very nice kit.
1930fordpickup
The Edsel was also a prepainted kit also Tony.
Tony_B
ah, yeah, I keep finding multiple, multiple of both the Edsel and Starliner. Being new (somewhat) to this, still trying to sort things out....geez, I never knew about all these variations--especially the amount of diecast stuff. A '60 Edsel would be cool. Nothing based off of the 1990's tooling. But, AMT did make one back in 1960. Scott
Casey
Might have to buy one of these early next year:
FordRodnKustom
Cool. It would be nice if R2 tooled up custom front and rear grills for it.
Brett Barrow
Nice! The (supposed to be Americans) mag wheels make even better Astro Supremes for the lowrider crowd.

stavanzer
That Box Art does invoke a certain "Buy it NOW!" response in some modelers. (Me included)
Rob Hall
Interesting that they are reissuing this again..Round 2 released it in retro box art back in '08-10 or so, IIRC...

Yes, we are literally witnessing round two now, with the '60 Starliner, '49 Ford Coupe, and '70 Super Bee all being reissued a second time by Round2. I hope that's a fluke, and not a sign of things to come.

The kit with the purple car on box is getting a bit harder to come by,the pro street is everywhere.

Casey
Casey do you know if the 70 Super Bee will be the pro-street or regular version? The kit with the purple car on box is getting a bit harder to come by,the pro street is everywhere. It's the regular version, not the Pro Street version. Not sure if they box will look like this or not, but it sounds like this kit has sold well enough that another production run was in order: With pickups kits being in demand, I wonder why no '60 Chevy P/U re-release? I was hoping they'd reissue it with both the stock and custom parts (yeah, it's ugly, but it contains a nice set of Euro-style headlight lenses with good detail), but the original kits are still fairly easy to come by for the same or less than what a new reissue would cost. In fact, I can't think of any Mueller-era kits which are difficult to find or expensive to acquire yet (at least here in the U.S.), but there are some far worse choices IMHO Round2 could've chosen to reissue, like the '57 Chrysler 300C and '58 Edsel
Mark
The street machine version of the '60 Chevy pickup is hard to find. I don't think it sold nearly as well as the stock one due to the custom grille, and some of the other parts like the wheels which were already dated when the kit came out. It does have some good engine parts though.
CometMan
Cool! I missed the '60 Ford last time! I would also like to see the '69 Ford come back around, it's getting pretty pricey on the secondary market considering it's semi-recent re-issue.
