First time sharing/ posting here.

a quick build, this kit is pretty basic. Not alot of detail but I understand its very old tooling. Fit on some parts is very average, had to put in a bit of work to get the grill to fit properly.

I've chosen the optional modified parts, supercharger and wide rear wheels. I've also substantially lowered it and will be looking to do a custom flat firewall/ inner fenders etc with plasticard which will be interesting as I've never used it before. I guess if it all turns ugly I'll leave the motor out and glue the stock hood shut.

Painted in tamiya arcrylics, X7 and will do a few clear coats to suit.

Good start there mate. Sounds like a decent plan, supercharged and low.

With the engine bay, do a test run with thin cardboard to help plan out and make templates to transfer onto the styrene sheet.

Glad to see another Aussie on here.

Great looking stance. I like how the engine just has the scoop above the top fender line. I would think if the engine was any lower you would need a skid plate for the oil pan.

First time using plastic card, moulded the inner fenders around a piece of electrical conduit. Made a flat firewall and a cover for the lack of detail up front. Just an idea of how it will fit together. Its just sitting in place for now.

I like the engine room panels. They passenger side looks like it may conflict with the headers but I realize this is just a mockup at this point.

I'm currently working on "rescuing" a glue bomb of this kit. I didn't like the way the front bumper/headlights fit the body, and I must have spent a couple hours of careful trimming and fitting to get it to an acceptable appearance. Looks like yours might have the same problem. If you can improve that area, you'll be glad you did in the finished product. Good luck and drive on! B)

Nice work on this old kit! I'd love to see a new issue of this era of Poncho. They had such nice lines and made for some great customs.

I already dealt with that, it also looks like the interior/ car body fitment needs a bit of a trim as well.
