Don’t even ask why! I dug into that big box of Jeep parts one more time. This is just for fun, without a lot of detail just to see what I can build from scraps..

Again I pulled the worst body out of the box, another major glue bomb. I had to pry a backseat out of the bed.

I had a chassis but no suspension. I stole the springs from a Revell 1950 Ford pickup. I had a rear from a Jeepster. It became 2wd with a straight front axle. The axles are below the springs per the 50 Ford arrangement. Wheels are from AMT 1953 Ford pickup kit.

Body cleaned up fairly well and sits in white primer here. Bed was too gluey, so I added some diamond plate.

Painted with Krylon Colormaster Satin Pistachio that I got at Ollies for a buck just because I thought it was an interesting color.

Windshield frame was broken already so I chopped 5 inches out of it and since it had no mounting parts I just glued it in place.

Engine came from AMT Falcon Modified Stocker and intake was for the V8 in an early Jeepster kit. It had a big open void in the center so I made a little fuel log.

So far so good! Odd color and all!

Looks great, nice rescue!

A bikini top would look great on that.

It'd probably be the only time on this forum that anyone could say, "Wouldn't you like to see that in a bikini?"  :D

No bikini! The little bumps on the roll bar are where the fog lamps go, so no top clipped to it!

Surprised you didn't run a slant six, just sayin'!

But I do like the colour.

Cheers

Don’t tempt me! I’m having issues getting the engine to sit right in the chassis and am near ready to hit the wall with it!

Isn't the pistachio paint a close match for the US forest service color?

Ya know... I knew there was something about it but just couldn’t put my finger on it!

Earlier this week... here is the completed chassis. V8 is from the Falcon Modified Stocker with intake from the V8 in early Jeepster kits and valve covers from the parts box.

Just sitting for the pose on Friday

This weekend I mated body and chassis. All under hood plumbing and accessories are complete. Interior is complete except for Round 3 of fiddling with the steering wheel.

Early MPC chrome was just coming off the bumpers upon touch, so they got stripped in Mr Clean tonight and are ready for finishing. Not sure if they’ll be white or chrome.

We should be under glass this week!
