yellowsportwagon Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 Another Torino checked off my list. Paul Jett Handy Andy Torino Johan body on stretched AMT TBird chassis with a resin hood from GKS 1964 Body detrimmed and modified for racing. Custom decals. Ford Wimbledon white. 1
'70 Grande Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 Really nice build! Sure would like to see some underhood pics and also what that T-bird chassis looks like underneath... but please take it inside for those pics!
gks1964 Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 Really turned out great!! I love the unusual subject!!
Dave Van Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 You're digging up the obscure of the obscure!!!!

I forgot it has a Polar Lights Boss 429 in it too. The TBird chassis is close to a 70s Banjo chassis
'70 Grande Posted March 21, 2021 Posted March 21, 2021 Just as I expected; outstanding craftsmanship underneath as well... this is an exceptional build!
Pierre Rivard Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Congratulations for another perfect build. Do you polish your paint? The finish is remarquable!
Ron Warner Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Very cool. Thanks for the info on the hood, also

MarkJ Posted March 30, 2021 Posted March 30, 2021 Another Awesome one from your bench, Tim. Everything looks perfect. Really like the grille alot.
DoctorLarry Posted April 7, 2021 Posted April 7, 2021 What do you use for tires? When I compare the scale kit tires to pictures, they always look way too small relative to the real cars. I use the Monogram 1/24 tres whenever possible because they are larger but other kit tires seem too small. Am I missing something?

Larry sometimes I use PPP tires but most often I use the AMT tires that came in the kit I used for the chassis. I find tgem to be slightly wider than Monogram tires but smaller in diameter. I spend lots of time reshaping wheel openings to match pictures and really concentrate on placing the tires correctly in relation to the wheel openings.
DoctorLarry Posted April 8, 2021 Posted April 8, 2021 I noticed that last night. The kit tires are shorter and wider than the Monograms. Current size, as far as I can find, is a 28 10 /15. I haven't scaled that out. but probably a little over an inch in 1/25.
Bob B 73 Posted July 15, 2021 Posted July 15, 2021 More obscure Torino's! Actually the same driver/car, just two different looks!
