This was just a quick build . I took the engine out of the kit for a different project so this one has the hood glued down and no engine installed . Added a resin scoop . Paint is Blazing Black with a gold stripe . Looks best at a distance !!

Looks good from here Ray.  Have you ever tries to put in the Monogram or AMT 289 engines in one of these kits or even a 5.0?  The Factory Five “427” kit Cobra I owed had a 302.   Most of the kit cars you see on the road do not have a Ford big block.

Now that you mention it i do Have a 289 here I was saving for a AMT Cobra. Not sure what scale that engine is. I think I remember that you said you never use that skinny 260/289 engine that comes in the AMT kits.

The 67/68 AMT Mustangs have a much better 289/302 engine as does the Monogram 65-66 Mustangs and may fit the Monogram Cobra okay.

Absolutely LOVE everything about this Cobra!!!!  Quite often i like to glue hoods down too....especially if i already have a detailed version already built. You're the Cobra man, Bud!!!!
