Yes, Chad got that part wrong, but no biggie. The two GT-404s I've seen images  on online are both painted that same seafoam green-ish color, so Round2 likely decided to go with green for that reason and to differentiate the parts from original parts included with the AMT GMC Astro 95 kit.

I'm really glad to see this engine return as it's a real gem.

It would be nice to have a close-up pictures of the model truck, especially details of the decals on the trailer.

I'm not sure who made the truck in the background, and I don't know its scale as I've never seen it.  But the decals on the truck are "GM" and "Detroit Diesel Allison".  Detroit Diesel is based in Detroit and used that green color on their engines for decades.  Allison Transmission and Allison Gas Turbine were based in Indianapolis.  Detroit Diesel and Allison Transmission merged in 1970 to become a new GM division called Detroit Diesel Allison.  Allison Gas Turbine remained a separate division.  At some point, Allison Transmission no longer was coupled with Detroit Diesel, and was eventually sold by GM to another company.  I don't know what happened to Allison Gas Turbine.  Dad was involved in a project for Gas Turbine, but decided to stay in the Detroit area.

By the way, Detroit Diesel was offering to employees a Nylint Detroit Diesel Allison truck in the mid-1970s.  Dad asked my brother and me if we were interested in getting them and we declined.  Dad bought one for himself and when I saw it, I could have kicked myself!  I eventually picked up a couple.

That green shade is called Alpine Green ; I *believe* that it was used on the "--V-71" engines , maybe on the "--V-53" and "--V-92" as well  ; basically , the V-composition engines . IIRC , a yellow was used on the inline engines of the 53 and 71 Series .

I had one of those Nylint promo tractor-trailers --- but , I was young and artistic and , well , it didn't survive my youth (1980 was the last year I had it --- a Christmas gift from 1973 ) .

Me too

Any idea why they had to re-tool the windscreen?

The one in the kit, at least the last re-issue, was way off and appeared to be one for a Tony Nancy kit, the Revell kit! Weird.

Also, the decals are wrong for this car. The ones included are for the '68 longer wheelbase car,  not this Chute Pack body style car.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I definitely have to pick this one up and use my older issue to build something else.

Now where is that Daytona Transporter I've got  in my stash?

Better swap out the Pontiac OHC I6 for a proper Slant Six. ?

I'm digging the old Disney Haunted Mansion kits being reissued. They always looked like fun to me.

I've picked up a few of them.....funny how the kits do not have anything to do with the Disney rides they claim to be connected to (the original MPC Disney licensed versions)

I'm not sure there are any existing color photos which would verify the color of the actual engine(s) used in the real truck(s). I would go with John's suggestion and call it good.

FWIW the actual April releases are going to be the Coke'd up '72 Chevy P/U and '64 Cutlass Convertible.  All of the kits in the video popped up this morning on the distribution list with May dates attached.

Yeah, and those probably won't be available at the usual vendors until May...

Probably depends on how fast they get the ships unloaded in Long Beach.
