AMT 1960 Chevy pickup

Just started this a couple days ago . Body painted except for the clear . I am second guessing my color combo .  I think I should have used a bright white . Colors are Tamiya Pearl White and Tamiya Coral Blue .   Too late now to change .

Still looks good Ray! Looks like you sprayed the Pearl White over gray primer? Tamiya Pearl White needs a white base coat to go over. I recently learned the hard way that it's a very finicky color to paint. You could do a coat of white primer and Pearl White to brighten it up if you're not happy with it. Just make sure to attach the hood and tailgate to the body so that it will all match up.

Hi Ray, great looking truck. The colour is actually quite unique, and in my opinion really cool. Like Roger said, it’s a finicky colour that requires white base. It reminds me of a build I did years ago, I used pearl clear over primer grey, I liked it.

This is a very nice kit and well molded with nice details.  I have always loved these early 60's pickups and you did a great job Ray.  As others have mentioned, the color combination is unique and will give a unique result.  I like it a lot! ?
