The Story

Attorney Charlotte Rothmann arrives and she spends a few minutes listening to McNally and why he was jailed.  She goes to the Detective's Bureau and she talks to Det. Metzer and Lt. Det. Troy.  Since the school didn't have the rules posted for viewing, all charges will be dropped.  The Police Resource Officer will be educated to look at all charges before he makes an arrest.  Charlie asks why the head of Homicide was in the Detective's Bureau and Adam replies that he was asking about the arrest.

McNally is released for Holding and given back his gear including his firearm and permits.  Charlie gives McNally a ride back to his car which is still at the school and he tells her all about the case he is working on.  He is beginning to suspect that Paul and the president of the car club may be up to no good.  As usual, Charlie tells him to be careful and not annoy anyone, especially the cops!

The Build

It's raining out, so I hunkered down in the model cave to work on the '29 Model A.  I painted the interior door panels and seat which will need a little cleanup.  I painted the interior floor flat black and sprinkled some black embossing powder for carpet.  Then I started working on the frame which I had repainted.

McNally will return...

The Story

McNally finds out who is making the trophies and he stops at Someville Trophy and he talks to the owner by the name of Doug.  Doug remembers the type of trophy that was ordered and he produces a simular item.  He talks about the making of the trophy and how it was assembled and how the label is printed.  The center of the trophy is hollow with a steel shaft and nuts holding the trophy together wth the marble like ends and a emblem on top.  McNally suspects that the center of the trophy can hold some contraband and the question he has is what?

The Build

I have been working on the '29 this morning.  The body got a light polishing and I am nearly done with the chassis.  I added the exhaust tips, engine and trans, the interior seat and shifter and the wheels and tires.  So far, this is looking really good!

Mcnally will return...

The Story

McNally is home in his office doing a deep web search on Paul Resnick when his phone rings and it's Pail on the line.  Paul was looking for an update and McNally tells him what he has been doing, talking to and looking.  Paul says that he can afford one more day of McNally investigating and then he has to stop as the money will run out.  He says that he understands and he will stop looking tomorrow night and Paul ends the call just as the front doorbell rings.  McNally answers the door and he finds Lt. Det. Adam Troy.

Adam has copies of the arrest records for Paul Resnick and Dave Mustoni.  He pulls two bottles of Sam Adams Light from the fridge and hands one to Adam who was heading home from work.  Adam downs the beer and he says thanks and he leaves for home.  McNally decides to visit Narcotics in the morning and ask them some questions.

The Build

Is this an oversight on Revell's behalf since the changed the engines?  The upper radiator hose doesn't want to go into the hole in the radiator, but into the hole for the radiator support above it.  And, yes.  I need to detail the radiator hose clamps!

McNally will return...

I looked at my revell 1930 hot rod.

Wh7ch upper hose aree you using. Part 166 is for the 29 shell and 170 is for the 32.

I am using part # 174 which the instructions call for.  Also, there is only the '29 radiator shell in 2 different heights in this kit.  There is no '32 shell.  Your Revell 1930 hot rod is a very different kit from the Revell '29 Ford Model A Roadster.

I have decided to go with the kit instructions and if they are wrong, so be it.  I am almost done with this kit and I do want to get it off the bench.

Thanks Bob, Bob and David!

I would say that is Revell’s mistake. That is the proper rad hose you are using and they show it going to the right hand support rod hole. I don’t recall if there was another hole below them. If there was, I filled it and the other support rod hole. There is only one rad shell in the kit, but two different radiators.

I'm looking at the box of my 29 Roadster and it looks like a small block Chevy with the distributor in the back.  Anybody know what Revell had in mind as the engine size for this kit?

If I had to venture a guess, the engine size is probably 283 or 327 unless the owner rebuilt the engine and increased its size by boring it over to 383.  But, we may never know...

If it's like real life, it's a 305 from an early '80s Impala but the owner tells everyone it's a 327 from a '67 Corvette  ??

The Story

McNally stops at Paul's apartment and knocks on the door.  Paul throws a towel over the stuff on the table and he answers it.  McNally walks in and he asks Paul if he still wants him to find his trophy and Paul says no.  He has no more money to give him.  Paul has McNally's money for the two days work he has done and he goes to his bedroom to get it while McNally walks into the kitchen and he sees the towel-covered goods on the table which he uncoversand Paul sees when he walks out of the bedroom.

McNally asks him about the drugs and the trophy on the table and Paul gets mad and he tries to take a swing at the Boston PI and he gets knocked down to the floor by McNally kicking his feet out from under him.  He cuffs him and he calls Narcotics to come for Paul.  Dave Mustoni is next since he was the one who gave the trophy to Paul.  With warrants drawn up, the Police descend upon his house and they find his stash hidden behind a brick in the garage.  Dave is arrested and taken away to Boston Police Headquarters while his family watches in horror.

McNally will return...
