A bit of trivia: In the early '70s, GM was seriously considering badge-engineering this car in the USA as a smaller Cadillac (which ended up on a Nova platform as the Seville): https://www.curbsideclassic.com/blog/ebay-find-1973-opel-admiral-this-could-have-been-the-seville-now-someone-should-turn-it-into-one/
SSNJim Posted September 5, 2021 Posted September 5, 2021 Don't forget the Cadillac that zigs, the Catera. It was a rebadged Opel Omega B. I think I'd have preferred the Admiral - it looks more like a Cadillac.

I had to go pick him up more times than I can count cause his had wiring issues. When it did run it was a blast to drive. He wound up selling it after having it only one year for around $500. That was in 1982 and in the late 90's I saw it at a car show fully restored and sure enough it was the guy that bought it from my friend in 82. I wonder what ever happened to it as I never saw it again.
